OctaveSync
A filter-first stock audio library - narrow the search by category, mood, tempo, BPM and more, then listen once. Authors keep 70% of every sale.
OctaveSync is a stock audio library built on one idea: filter first, find the sound. Instead of auditioning preview after preview, you narrow the library down to exactly what you need — then listen once.
How OctaveSync works
Filter first
Over a hundred categories with thousands of subcategories, plus audio type, mood, tempo band, exact BPM range, duration, format, vocals or instrumental, looping or one-shot, quality, author and price. Combine them and the list shows exactly what you asked for — nothing else.
See the shape before you play
Every row draws a waveform rather than loading audio, so a full page of results costs a handful of tiny cached files. You can see where a track builds and where it drops before pressing play at all.
Audition a preview
Pressing play auditions a preview clip — never the file you would buy. Previews are re-encoded at reduced quality, and the master never has a public URL.
Licence and download
Buy with credits and the master is released through a checked download route. Your purchase history keeps permanent re-download links.
Your master stays yours
Previews are deliberately not the master. The master recording is stored outside anything the web server will serve — there is no URL that reaches it. It is released only through a checked download route, and only to the author, an administrator, or someone who has bought a licence.
A permanent audio ID. Every track carries a 32-bit ID assigned at upload. Authors can change every other detail afterwards; that number never changes, so a licensed recording can always be traced back to its purchase.
Licensing that matches the use
Each track’s listed price buys the Standard — Presentation licence. Uses that reach far bigger audiences — podcasts and online video, advertising, games and apps, radio and television — carry an extended licence at a multiple of the listed price, in line with practice across the major audio libraries. The tier you need is shown, priced, on every track page before you buy, and a licence is per track and permanent. Buying a wider licence later is always possible; you are never charged twice for a tier you already hold.
Credits, earnings and payments
You buy audio with credits — £1 equals 1 credit. Top up in advance, and each download is deducted from your balance, which stays visible in the menu. When someone licenses a track, 70% of the sale goes to its author; the remainder covers storage, bandwidth, payment processing, review and development. Earnings are paid out monthly.
Payments run through Stripe. Buyers pay on Stripe’s own hosted checkout, so card details never touch OctaveSync’s servers. Authors link their own free Stripe account to receive monthly payouts.
